Ballet Manila closes it's 20th season by the world premier of Martin Lawrence's REBEL.
Rebel is a story of EDSA in dance form. And they have staged it right in time for EDSA's 30th anniversary too.
Seeing a story we're so familiar with being interpreted in dance is surreal. It's such a classic that was given a different twist because it was done in ballet. Beautiful.
Plus hearing Joanna Ampil sing is an added bonus. I have always loved Joanna Ampil eversince her Miss Saigon days. Plus I've watched her several times on her other shows and I must say that they could not have gotten a better person to be Inang Bayan's singing voice.
ABS CBN Philharmonic Orchestra under Maestro Gerard Salongga gave music to the entire show. You can't go wrong with that ensemble.
You still have until 3PM today to catch it at the Aliw Theater. So go and watch. You may visit www.ticketworld.com.ph ot buy your tickets at the Ticket World outlets. Must watch. Worth every penny. This is something you don't dare miss.
Here are some more photos from the show. Sorry if some are blurred or something. I just did some quick shots becauseI can't dare miss a beat. I can't take my eyes off the stage. Because you don't do that to a Lisa Macuja show. Actually, more like, you can't. Hahaha!
